10 Best Alternatives to Tinder: For the Love of Dating Apps

Do you feel suspicious when you hear of Tinder? Many of us do. The problem is not about tinder-swindlers and stuff; the problem is that it works worse and worse every year. If you are not on a premium account (which of them, by the way?), your chances to find your match decline down to zero. Is it about you? Chances are it’s about the app you choose. So, let’s try others.

We will make out selection as inclusive as possible. In addition, we will not focus on hookups or ONS like Tinder (we must admit) does with its focus on photos and appearance. The alternatives are not strange to this either, but they may help you find your partner for the rest of your life, or just friends, or even someone to just talk to. Let’s start our app trip.

Hinge

It’s one of the most serious dating apps (hence the name). Unlike Tinder, it gives more than a set of photos and a brief description. It tells more about your tastes, views, concerns, attitudes, and everything. In addition, in the free version your likes are limited, so spend them wisely.

Bumble

What everybody knows about it is that on Bumble, in hetero matches women have the first say. And if the man doesn’t respond in 24 hours, he loses contact forever. Having this set, as a rule, helps both unconfident men (they have no say) and unconfident women (they have nothing to wait for). And a good match can change their lives.

OkCupid

It’s one of the most famous and popular dating services we used to know as a site rather than an app. The service offers to find your match according to who and where you are and what you care about. Like all of them do, of course, but OkCupid has been successful for decades, and that’s the reason.

Plenty of Fish

Yes, it delivers plenty of potential matches. And a great lot of options, including the Meet button (which does not legally oblige you but shows your intentions). Choose by appearance, interests, or attitudes; there are so many options regardless of your preferences.

Badoo

It’s the advanced version of Tinder; though it has its version of the swipe game, it allows you to search by location, gender, age, and other parameters. It’s popular all over the world, and the limitations for free accounts are reasonable.

Thursday

Are you about real dating? Then do your matching on Thursday to take them out during the weekend. On Thursday in both meanings: this app is functional on Thursday only, hanging dead the rest of the week. So don’t forget to exchange your contacts outside of the app before it drops.

HILY

Though the name is obviously an abbreviation of How I Love You, there’s more to it.  It’s positioned as the app to find friends, business partners, employees, even someone to drink with.

Stars Align

If you believe in horoscopes, here is your app. Enter your date of birth: you will find someone whose stars align with yours. Of course, there are other parameters to consider as well. But astrology is the basis, and it may work as well as the most powerful AI.

Coffee Meets Bagel

The best thing about this app is curated matching (indeed, “bagels” are just these curated matches). The more details you provide by answering questions, the easier it is to find you someone who may be the one. The number of matches per day is limited, but it makes you choose more responsibly.

Raya

To join Raya, you need an invitation, an iPhone (there is no Android app), and some confidence to enter where celebrities roam. The monthly price is even lower than that of Tinder, but there is no free option that sifts away the unserious members too. It’s the most exclusive app on our list where we tried to be as inclusive as possible.

You Are Listed, Included, and Set for Happiness

Well, there’s no Grindr on our list, no HER, no Latin American Cupid, no BLK, and, oy vey, no JSwipe. The reason is simple: we tried to give you the list of the most inclusive dating apps, while all these are developed for certain communities. On the other hand, on the apps from the list, you can find nearly any sort of relationship. Most of these apps offer free accounts with some limitations and ads, the only exception being Raya.

Do you know any other dating apps that would fit on this list? Or can you tell a story that could be useful or amusing for others? Share your experience in the comments if you please!
