The final beta version of Android 13 is available now for anyone who participates in the beta program. As both Google and beta testers say, even the previous version was well usable, so the current beta will be even more so. This means soon Android 13 will be officially launched, at least on Google Pixel devices and those by A-brands.
Android 13 (no sweet alias this time) will bring some new features like larger screens support, advanced windowed mode, and an improved taskbar. The UI will be seriously improved, with more customization options, updated animations, and color palettes adjustable to the color scheme of wallpapers. Material You themes will receive new palettes. Finally, the lock screens and Now Playing widget are updated.
As for functionality, the new Android receives Bluetooth LE audio and audio mixer, a better silent mode, improved QR scanner, better cross-device media control, and more. Multilingual users will be able to select languages for different apps separately. What also matters is improved privacy (for example, a photo picker within apps now can have limited access). Musicians and DJ’s will appreciate improved MIDI over USB.
While Android Beta 4 is available since July 13, the release date of Android 13 isn’t clear yet. What is clear is that Google Pixel owners will be the first to receive it. Then it will take some time for manufacturers to adapt this new version to their devices and roll it out gradually. Given that some flagship phones and tablets of 2020 still remain on Android 11, this won’t be a quick process.
Have you already installed the current Android 13 Beta? Do you prefer stable versions or are adventurous enough to try betas? If there’s no Android 13 for your device, would you try an unofficial custom one? Let’s discuss it before the release in the comments! If you have it on your Pixel, your impressions will be the most precious addition.
