Those of us who can’t wait to see the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 have been able to enjoy the beta version for some time. And now it becomes even more fun and playable as the next big patch for it is revealed. With this patch, the experience gets closer to what we should expect in the release version (and it won’t take that long).
The second beta version has brought a lot to the table, to cheer up the players that might have found the first one too raw or wanting. The update brought more content, making the game much more enjoyable. The list of the new features is published in the official release notes, though most of them are obvious enough for the player to notice as they launch the game.
The update patch brings two new battle maps with telltale names Sariff Bay and Sa’id. The names sound Middle Eastern, so is the design, putting these maps to the United Republic of Adal, the CoD’s version of Qurac. Also. The Ground War mode is back, along with Sandbox TDM named Invasion. There are also improvements to player visibility (both you and your adversaries are now easier to spot), in audio tuning, and in weapon tuning in-game. Finally, the UI is also a bit refined.
As for weekly changes, the perk rate will remain the same. It will be increased as all the platforms get open. The level cap for Week 2 of testing is 30. If you played Weekend 1, your progress will be transferred to Weekend 2.
The release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is already scheduled on October 28. So it’s not about impatience if you want to try the beta version. It’s rather about the pleasure of seeing the game unfold, gaining new features, growing in plain sight: that’s the secret attraction of Early Access exploited by so many developers.
Have you already joined the ranks of beta testers? Of will you prefer to enjoy the already tested release version, maybe even after a patch or two? What do you expect from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in general? Share your expectations and hopes in the comments if you please!
