Calls Links Feature Starts Rolling Out to More WhatsApp Users

Over the years, call features in messaging apps have become more and more important. Just last month, Mark Zuckerberg announced that WhatsApp will now how a Call Link feature in its arsenal. According to the company, users will now be able to join a certain call or invite other people to join theirs. It seems that these types of conference features are currently being added to all the popular messaging services, especially after their rise in popularity during the pandemic.

According to a recent report, WhatsApp will now start rolling out this latest feature to a larger number of app users. When it comes to the actual feature, it makes it possible for up to 32 people to get on a call at once. What is interesting is that one link should be valid for up to 90 days. Based on the reports provided by the Android Police, users can access it by going to the Calls tab located at the top.

Once you notice this feature on your device, it is easy to get access to it. The way it works is that you should simply tap the ‘Create call link’ option in WhatsApp. Once you take this tap, you will get a unique call link and it will be valid for up to 90 days. In the same section, you will be able to choose whether it will be a simple call or a video call. What is more, there are many sharing options available right in the menu. In such a way, you can quickly share the link either in WhatsApp or in other third-party apps.

At the moment, it seems that this feature is not available for the desktop version of the messaging service. If you open the call link on your computer or laptop, you will get a page that will offer you to join the call from your smartphone. It is possible to do this either by copying the call link or by scanning a QR code.

What do you think about this feature? Do you plan to use WhatsApp for such collective calls? Please, share your thoughts in the comments below!
