Fortnite to Get In-Person Invitational Later in 2022

We have already got used tiwh everything gone online after COVID-19 struck. In 2022, these limitations seem to matter much less. To the extent that Epic Games already schedules an in-person event on November 12-13. This time, a Fortnite competitive event named FNCS Invitational will gather players in Raleigh, N.C. rather than online only.

The names of the participants are not known yet. But it’s been made clear that Epic will be selecting FNCS duos from all the world and inviting them to the event.  The prize pool they will compete for will reach $1M, which is much more impressive than what the rivals (like PUBG or Garena Free Fire) offer.

In the announcement, Epic also recognizes that the event may be canceled or postponed because of health-related regulations should they change again. In its announce, the company emphasized that everything still could change. If so, Epic would update. As for other countries where players may come from, Epic urges them to keep track of local laws and regulations, so they can leave their country and cross the American border in time and without extra hassle.

FNCS Invitational is the first real-life event in recent years that will gather the participants in a single lobby. Not only will this make the competition more spectacular and attractive for the press. It will also provide fairer play where last-mile differences and network-caused delays are zeroed. Finally, the very fact that such an influential game as Fortnite goes offline may indicate that the lockdown era is indeed coming to an end. At least, until the new virus arrives. But even then, we’ll always have The Island.

Would you participate in such an event or watch the stream? Do you think it’s time to announce offline events? Let us know what you think, and welcome to the comments section!
