If you received an email to your Gmail inbox with a picture you want to add to your Google Photos collection, you can finally do it in one click or tap. With the new addition – one specialized button – now Gmail web version users can save pictures to Google Photos instantly.
Of course, it only works with pictures attached to the message, not with those within its body. To save the picture to your Google Photos gallery, you only need to click one button. Don’t confuse it to “Add to Drive” button: it adds the picture as a file to your cloud folder on Google Drive.
The photo is, in fact, copied, so you better not abuse this, given that unlimited storage on Google Photos is a thing of the past. No later than on June 1, the limitations announced this year would apply, so many of us will have to decimate their photos on Google.
It does not matter whether you use a regular free version of Gmail or something more advanced, like Google Workspace, G Suite Basic, or G Suite Business. The update will be available to everyone. It will take about 15 days for the new feature to roll out worldwide.
Hardly will it make sending pictures via email more popular than doing it with messengers, but still it will make creating galleries easier.
