WhatsApp, the highly popular messaging platform owned by Facebook, is always getting new features to make sure its users have a great experience. After news of an updated UI coming to the Android version leaked out, now reports are circulating that WhatsApp may soon be introducing a feature that will enable users to save contact details within the app itself.
The new feature is aimed at making it easier for users to store contact information without having to exit the app and go into their device’s native contacts list. According to WABetaInfo – a WhatsApp beta tracker – tapping on ‘New Contact’ will now open up a UI similar to what one would find in Google Contacts or any other address book application present on your device. All you need do is enter all relevant details about that person, such as name, email address, phone number, etc., and then hit save once done inputting all details.
This new method should come as welcome news for those who are regularly adding contacts onto their devices since it makes storing them much more convenient than before since everything can now be done from within one place, i.e., WhatsApp itself! It could also prove useful when sending messages via group chats that contain multiple participants who might not already be saved in your contacts list but whose numbers you have stored somewhere else, like your notes or emails inboxes, etc.
While this feature has been spotted only in the latest beta versions of WhatsApp right now, so there’s no saying when/if it ever reaches the public availability stage, but based on previous track record, we can expect them to roll out relatively soon once they iron out any kinks that might still exist with this implementation before going live with it officially across all platforms supported by their service (Android/iOS).
In conclusion, if you're someone who regularly adds people's contact information onto your phone, then this upcoming change should definitely excite you as saving contacts directly from inside Whatsapp should make things much quicker & simpler than having to go through the usual process involving opening up separate applications each time!
