Bethesda’s long-awaited space RPG, Starfield, has been making waves in the gaming industry lately with speculations and rumors surrounding its release. Windows Central recently provided new information regarding the game and whether it will meet its supposedly first-half 2023 launch window.
Unfortunately for gamers around the world, these recent revelations were not all positive news. It turns out that a concerning date for the game which surfaced on CDKeys - March 23rd, 2023 – was just a placeholder, meaning that we may never know when exactly to expect Starfield. The website also listed an outdated platform for releasing Starfield; Bethesda Launcher was closed down in May of this year, whereas some other flighting tests have been done through the Xbox Insider program recently instead.
However, there is also good news related to Starfield as well; according to reports from Jez Corden at Windows Central, who spoke with his “trusted source,” it seems like Starfield is fully playable from start to end! This could contradict recent rumors about the state of progress on the game being far less than expected, as obviously, before launching a video game, it must hit certain criteria regarding stability and bug fixes before being put out into production.
With all this said and done, one thing remains true; we still need to get a legitimate confirmation or proof either way of when or even if we should get ready both mentally and financially to purchase this highly anticipated title from Bethesda Softworks & Zenimax Online Studios. We do know, however, that once this game releases, it will be available on both PC as well as next-generation consoles such as Xbox Series X/S (and potentially PS5).
Thus despite heavy speculation within the gaming community, nobody can confirm nor deny an exact date of release for what will surely be an epic space RPG experience courtesy of two very respected studios within our industry - Bethesda Softworks & Zenimax Online Studios. Until then, pray unto your respective gods, my friends!
