Will Verizon’s Plans Be Less Expensive Now? The Answer Is No

Just recently, Verizon came forth with an announcement that their prepared phone plans will become cheaper. But, when you take a closer look at the conditions, it becomes obvious that users of these plans won’t notice any difference when it comes to pricing.

The company provided information that the prepaid plans with 15GB will cost $5 less, but there will be no way to apply different discounts for loyalty, which means that users will not get any value from the company’s decision.

For example, if a person currently uses the Unlimited Plus prepaid plan, it will cost not $75 but rather $70. Previously, users who had this plan for several months could get a loyalty discount of $10 and an autopay discount of $5, which meant that the cost of this plan went to $60. In such a way, the combination of the previous discounts made the plan more favorable for users rather than simply making the plan cost $5 less.

It should be noted that the company still allows users to apply their loyalty discount, but it will now be impossible to combine it with the additional $5. If you are not familiar with how the loyalty discount works, it is the type of discount that can be applied after using the plan for 10 months. However, the users can forget about combining this discount with the $5-dollar one because the company has lowered its standard prices.

It is also important to talk about the benefits of the new plans. One of the changes included by the company was that users can now text and call from and to Canada and Mexico. Before this update, such services were included only in the unlimited plans while the less expensive options allowed to send texts and make calls only within the US.

Do you use Verizon? What do you think about such changes? Please, share your thoughts in the comments below.
