YouTube Will Allegedly Have an Updated ‘Podcasts’ Homepage

It seems that well-known podcast platforms will soon be getting another competitor. A large document containing the plans of YouTube to extend its selection of features has allegedly been leaked.

The information comes from the team of Podnews and they claim that they have a presentation compiled by YouTube that contains 84 pages. While the source hasn’t shared the entire content of this presentation, they mentioned that it contains a ‘Looking Ahead’ section in which YouTube talks about podcasts. According to the report posted by Podnews, there will be a separate ‘Podcasts’ homepage on YouTube that will make it easy to find any podcasts you may be interested in.

Also, according to the document, YouTube is focused on ensuring that podcasts can be uploaded quickly and without any issues. The platform will also feature audio ads from various companies for the users that listen to different audio content. The video streaming resource also works on upgrading its available analytics, so that creators of audio content can view more data. By doing this, YouTube will enable proper integration with the most important podcast measurement sites, including Chartable and Podtrac.

It's not just YouTube that is currently focused on improving access to podcasts. Spotify also works on adding an ‘audio news feed’ that can be used to quickly find podcasts in the app. There has appeared an alleged video from the developers that shows a new ‘Podcasts’ button in the interface. Right now, all we have to do is wait for both companies to make official announcements regarding their upcoming changes.

Do you listen to podcasts? What do you think about these ambitions of YouTube? Please, share your thoughts on this topic in the comments below.
