Here is the list of the most relevant mobile role-playing games in 2021.

Fire Emblem Heroes

It’s been one of the best RPGs for decades, and one of the original Nintendo titles available for mobiles. In its fantasy setting typical for Japanese RPGs, it also incorporates elements of tactical combat and even auto-combat for beginners.

Monster Hunter Stories

While the Monster Hunter series is rather mechanical, this game features more role-playing. It has a story of many episodes, where you can fight monsters as well as tame them and make friends. Genshin Impact

However, the story of a character searching for their twin in a fairyland is rather generic, and “free-to-play” means microtransactions rule everything around you.

FINAL FANTASY Record Keeper

Though this is a new standalone story from the famous series, it retains the spirit of the classical installments and its pixel designs. More than that: it features characters and music from the entire long saga, so it’s the best RPG for Android and iOS for Final Fantasy fans. Alas, it’s no longer an MRPG game, as multiplayer was closed last year. It’s still great, nevertheless.

Anima

Inspired by the famous Diablo series, this RPG features similar mechanics and even similar visuals. Its world is typically medieval-fantasy set, with more mystic and demonic creatures you have to fight with sword or spell. It’s story-based, but quite replayable due to the New Game+ mode available after the finish.

Stardew Valley

Among the best RPG games for Android, this one might feel strange, as many perceive it as a farming simulator. But it has a role-playing side, so the process of upgrading your farm becomes a real challenging adventure.

Arcane Quest

While this RPG is set in a typical fantasy world, it has something distinct about it. It’s rather story-based than grind-based, so it doesn’t need the Internet, being arguably the best offline RPG for Android. In it, you can select a character and develop them to the highest tier with various skill sets. The first episode of the game is available for free.
